The Great Gatsby Post 3

Right now whats going on is Tom takes Nick and Myrtle to New York City to the Morningside Heights apartment that Tom keeps for his pleasure basically.In the apartments Tom throws a party on that night and that is where several characters are introduced. There is Myrtle's sister who's name is Catherine and a family that lives in the apartments below Tom named the McKee's. At the party there was drinking and I like how Fitzgerald shows the characteristics of Nick how he is saying how Nick gets sick of what is going on at the party and he eventually tries to leave and how he shows the characteristics even better when nick said "This is only the second time I got drunk in my life".

The great thing about this section of my reading though is how I loved how Fitzgerald explains the new characters in the book. When he explains them he sort of paints a picture in your head because there is such great description like when he described the McKee's he said Mr. McKee is kind of pale and feminine and Mrs.McKee is just sort of old and kind of dried up. I just loved those great descriptions could have not done it any better
