Grapes of Wrath 2

In this posting I read chapters 4- 7 For my second blog posting, we meet a lot of new chacters but Steinbeck seems to focus on the turtle. Which is kind of really weird to me and kind of random.

These chapters to me are disappointing ones only because Steinbeck makes you visualize and think about all the people that are losing their jobs in the dust bowl and how they will have a hard time surviving out their in the streets, during these times. I think it is still weird how he focuses on that turtle though I guess I just have to wait a little longer to see, hopefully it will finally mean something to me.

Grapes Of Wrath(I stopped reading No country for old men)

I started to read Grapes of Wrath because I heard it was a good book, and to me no country for old men was a good book but it didn't keep my attention to well. To start off I just read the chapter 1-4.

I think John Steinbeck did a great job of detailing the environment and what’s going on in the Dust Bowl. I love how the first chapter is steinbeck setting up the setting I think that captures the book well and puts you where you need to know. I did not really understand the turtle in the first chapter. Im sure it will end up symbolizing something but fof now im confused. So lets just see where this ends up and goes. Knowing Steinbeck and of mice and men it will good.

No Country For Old Men 3

The man that I was talking about earlier in the book that escaped from jail. Well he gets involed with the man with the money. The muderer guy who escaped from jail did so for a reason that money was his money and those drugs were his drugs, and now he is pissed. So I stopped there and now I am getting excited.

In the movie this part leads to a sort of like wild goose chase to get his money back. I cant wait to see how the author plays off from this. Like how dramatic he is going to make it and how he is going to like carry out the action. So now I am in to it. Good Job McCarthy.

No Country For Old Men 2

Moss goes home backs to his wife carrying the suitcase full of money when his wife confronts him by basically asking him what is in that briefcase. So far this book is still pacing its self, but you can basically tell that its going to spark at anytime.

McCarthy is pacing this book just right to lead up to something huge I bet. So I still have no worries about the book, I just have to be patient and let him set the scene so things finally do just pick up.
